New Speaker Elected Today

A new Speaker of the House of Assembly will be elected today.

The House re-opens this afternoon.

Tom Osborne served as speaker before he was appointed to cabinet.

Deputy Speaker Lisa Dempster was also given a cabinet post.

Premier Ball said that Perry Trimper would make a good Speaker.

MHA for Harbour Grace-Port de Grave Pam Parsons said that she also has in interest in the post.
