Accident Closed Highway for Brief Time #nltraffic

The Corner Brook Fire Department, RNC, and Western Memorial Paramedics responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on the North Shore Highway around 5:25 pm yesterday evening.

A single male driver was trapped inside a vehicle that had left the roadway and Corner Brook Fire Dept had to use extrication equipment to free the man from the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, the male driver was conveyed to Hospital by ambulance with what is believed to be serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The RNC Accident Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Section completed a thorough scene examination which resulted in partial traffic flow obstruction for approximately 4 hrs.

Investigation into the cause of the collision remains under investigation.
