Man in Heap of Trouble Following St. John's Traffic Stop

Around 8:30 pm last night RNC Patrol services conducted a traffic stop in the West End of St. John’s.

The driver did not have a valid driver’s license and the vehicle did not have insurance.

Initially, the driver provided a false name and but was eventually properly identified. It was discovered that there was a warrant for his arrest. The 36 year old male was also on court orders.

He was arrested and conveyed to the City lockup to appear before a judge in the morning.

The male had $26,000 in fines and he was issued multiple summary offence tickets for breaches under the Highway Traffic Act.

His vehicle was seized and he was charged with breach of court orders and public mischief for lying to police.
