35 People Homeless After Fire Guts Housing Complex
Twelve families are homeless after a massive fire ripped through a Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Complex yesterday.
Firefighters responded to the call around 6:00 p.m. on Froude Avenue in the Mundy Pond Area of St. John’s.
By the time firefighters responded the building was already engulfed in flames.
One person was taken to hospital for smoke inhalation.
According to the Canadian Red Cross thirty-five people are now homeless.
Local residents in homes nearby had to also leave their homes due to the thick smoke.
As of this morning there is little left to the structure.
The blaze was brought under control late on Monday night.
