Events Planned for St. John's Fire

The City of St. John's is planning a weekend of events to mark the 125th anniversary of the Great Fire of 1892.

Events will include an archival photo exhibit, a song and story event and historical walk through the affected area.

The Great Fire in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, on July 8, 1892, is remembered as the worst disaster ever to befall that city. Previous "Great Fires" had occurred in St. John's in 1819 and 1846.
