A member of the Labrador Land Protectors group, Beatrice Hunter, along with other group members were in court on May 29 for allegedly violating an injunction to not protest within a certain radius of the main gates of Muskrat Falls May 20 and 21.
The others in court promised to stay away from the site while Hunter said she could not promise she would stay away.
Hunter remains in police custody and now a petition has started to have her released.
Fifty people held a vigil for Hunter on the lawn of the Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP Detachment.
She will be back in court on June 9.
