Operation: "REGULATIONS" #nltraffic

Canada Road Safety Week, which aligns with the first long weekend of the Spring/Summer season, is an initiative designed to remind people that an essential goal of the enforcement is to save lives and reduce injuries on our roadways. The RNC has partnered with Newfoundland and Labrador RCMP, Service NL and Newfoundland & Labrador Liquor Corporation on the Avalon Peninsula this year. Officers will focus on common provincial statutes and criminal code offences such as: speeding; dangerous and imprudent driving; seatbelts; adherence to traffic control devices; move over law; impaired driving and adherence to provincial liquor regulations. Over the coming days officers will be conducting traffic safety stops and, in partnership with the RCMP, conducting traffic safety checkpoints at various locations on the Avalon Peninsula. The RNC will also be participating in a number of road safety activities throughout the province in the Corner Brook Region and in Labrador West.
