Service NL will waive fees for a peeling licence plate regardless of the age of the plate.

In addition, any customer who paid for a replacement for a peeling plate since March 2017 will receive a rebate in the coming weeks.

Minister Trimper has given full support to the Registrar of Motor Vehicles to use his authority to replace licence plates without a fee when it is determined that the plate is unreadable because of a manufacturing defect.

Anyone whose licence plate is peeling should return it to their nearest Motor Registration Division location for a free replacement.
