RNC Seeking Information on Suspicious Fire


The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is seeking the assistance of the public in an ongoing suspicious fire investigation. On Monday, April 24, 2017 just after 7:00 am RNC Patrol Services responded to a report that a John Deere dozer was on fire. The fire was extinguished by Torbay Volunteer Fire before officers arrived and nobody was injured. The fire was in a gravel pit off of Bauline Line near Middle Three Island Pond Rd. The dozer was valued somewhere between $200,000.00 and $250,000.00 and was completely destroyed in the fire. The RNC General Investigation Unit believes that this fire is suspicious in nature is asking anyone who has information to call the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
