Leafs End Historic Season


The Toronto Maple Leafs have been eliminated from Stanley Cup playoffs after losing to Washington 2 to 1 in overtime.

There were no goals until the third period. Marcus Johansson scored twice, including the winning goal for the Capitals. Auston Matthews scored the sole goal for the Maple Leafs.

Toronto has had a season like no other in recent history. The Maples Leafs clinched the playoffs for the first time since the 2012–13 season.

The 2016–17 Toronto Maple Leafs season was the 100th season for the Team.
