Vice President of FISH-NL Announces Hunger Strike #nlpoli

Richard Gillett, the Vice President of FISH-NL, has announced that he is beginning a hunger strike effective immediately.

Gillett has pitched a tent on the property outside the DFO offices on White Hills Road.

His demands include a meeting with Dominic Leblanc, the federal fisheries minister, and an independent review of science and management of the fishery.

Ryan Cleary, the president of FISH NL, says he advised against the hunger strike.

The RNC showed up and spoke with Cleary & Gillett and left the area shortly afterwards.
