Another Blast of Winter for Newfoundland #nlwx

Old man winter is is not done with Newfoundland yet.

An area of low pressure will be centered east of the Avalon Peninsula by noon today.

For the Avalon we will see rain this morning and afternoon along with strong wind. However precipitation may become mixed with ice pellets this morning.

Central will see a plethora of snow with over 50 cm possible combined with strong wind.

Along the west coast snowfall amounts will be minimal, however strong wind will cause whiteout conditions.

An area of high pressure remains dominant over Labrador on Tuesday which will push the low away from the Island. However a secondary low will approach from the west on Thursday. We are watching that system but we do not expect any major impacts at this time.
