Osmond Wins Silver at World Figure Skating Championships

Kaetlyn Osmond has won the silver medal at World Figure Skating Championships in Helsinki.

The Marystown native finished with a score of 218.13. She was beat by Evgenia Medvedeva from Russia who had a score of 233.41.

Gabrielle Daleman from Ontario will take home the bronze Medal with a score of 213.52.

Osmond is a silver medalist in the team event at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Her older sister Natasha competed in singles, pair skating and ice dance at the National level.

Osmond moved first from Newfoundland to Montreal at age 8 and then with her family to Alberta at age 10 in order to have better training conditions.

Coach Ravi Walia competed at the international level.

Osmond missed the 2014/15 season due to a broken ankle.
