Another Storm Eyes Newfoundland #nlwx

An area of low pressure currently bringing a winter storm to portion of the U.S. Northeast will track northeastward and will be positioned just south of Newfoundland on Sunday night.

Snow will begin on the southeastern coast on Sunday evening. By morning, central and eastern Newfoundland, including the Avalon, will be seeing snow. Snow will make its way to the west coast before noon.

Over the Avalon the precipitation is expected to change to ice pellets and then to rain.

Strong wind with gusts up to 100 km/h are possible over central Newfoundland and the Avalon.

Current model guidance suggests 20 to 30 cm of snow on the Avalon, 20 to 35 cm for central, the south coast could pick up 20 cm. Along the west coast and the Great Northern Peninsula, snowfall amounts will be minimal.

A slight shift in the track could make a big difference in storm totals. Keep checking back for updates.

The storm will push away on Tuesday night. But hold on a minute... on Wednesday there is another potential low.
