RNC Kept Busy With Impaired Drivers #nltraffic

The RNC were kept busy yesterday with impaired drivers.

The first was at 3:20 pm when RNC patrol officers responded to a report of a possible impaired driver at a business in the West end of St. John’s. A woman who had been in a store, left driving a vehicle and staff thought she was impaired. The woman was located a short time later and as a result of the investigation was charged with Impaired Driving and Refusing the breathalyzer. The 51 year old woman was released to appear in court at a later date.

Early this morning at 1:50 am police stopped a vehicle in the Downtown area of St. John’s for driving with snow on the vehicle. When speaking to the driver the police officer believed alcohol had been consumed by the operator. Then the adult male was charged for impaired driving and failing a breath test. The accused has been released to appear in court at a later date.

At 3:00 pm police responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver who was trying to be served at a liquor store in the west end of St. John’s. Upon investigation the police believed the adult female driver had operated a vehicle while impaired. When given a demand by the police to provide testing to measure impairment, she refused. The accused has been charged with refusal. She is released to appear at a later date.
