Most areas of the Island are seeing snow this morning.
On the Avalon, snow will change over to rain. There is the possibility of an extended period of freezing rain.
In Central, snow will change to ice pellets and then to rain.
Snow will quickly transition over to rain along the south coast. We may also see large swell and high surf.
For the west coast, snow will be the dominant form of precipitation, however, snow will change to ice pellets or rain. There is the possibility of an extended period of freezing rain in the Humber Valley and Green Bay-White Bay region.
Labrador will likely only see snow from this event.
There will be a brief reprieve in the precipitation this afternoon and evening as a second wave of moisture will slide across western Newfoundland tonight into Thursday.
In this case, most of the Island will see rain, except the west coast where mixed precipitation is expected.
Over the south coast precipitation amounts could get as high as 30 mm.
Newfoundland will clear out on Thursday Night. In Labrador, conditions will improve on Friday night.
