The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is requesting that the public avoids all unnecessary travel until the extreme wind currently being experienced in Eastern Newfoundland subsides. The extreme wind has resulted in structural damage to various properties, blowing debris, inaccessible roadways, hazardous driving conditions and fallen power lines. Emergency crews are working to ensure public safety and the RNC is requesting that the public avoids all non-emergency travel at this time. To report a hazard, please call 911. If you must travel during this time please remain away from any areas where emergency crews are working.
