John Haggie, Minister of Health, has announced that there will be some changes to the food delivered at hospitals.

The province will be decommissioning the Central Kitchen and replacing it with Steamplicity.

Steamplicity is a unique cooking system which cooks fresh food to perfection, ensuring all the taste and all the vitality, and delivering high quality, fresh and nutritious meals.

This move is expected to save government about $4 million a year and reduced food waste.

Employees at central kitchen will either be moved to the new Steamplicity facility or be provided with other jobs within Health.
