RNC Investigating Commercial Break and Entry


Police in St. John’s are is investigating a break and entry that occurred at a commercial property in on February 26, 2017.

At approximately 1:00 am officers with Patrol Services Division, Police Dog Services and Forensic Identification Services responded to a Break and Entry at the Laurier Lounge on Hamilton Avenue.

When police arrived they located a male operating a John Deere tractor. This tractor was reported stolen hours prior from the area of Pleasant Street and it had been used to gain entry to the Laurier Lounge. The male operator of the tractor fled the area on foot and was not apprehended.

A witness stated that a second male left the area in a dark coloured car prior to police arrival.

Nothing was reported stolen during the break and entry however the building has sustained significant damage.
