Lidar enforcement on TCH nets 17 charges #nltraffic


RCMP Traffic Services and Holyrood RCMP Detachment members teamed up yesterday to keep the TCH on the Avalon a little safer.

These police services conducted Lidar (laser radar) Enforcement on Route One near the Avondale Access Exit both this morning and during afternoon for only a few hours each time.

Weather conditions were foggy with some light drizzle. Traffic was light in the morning and moderate in the afternoon.

Police had one member monitoring the Lidar while three member in marked police cars dealt with violators.

Over the course of approximately four hours (two hours in the am and two hours in the pm), the RCMP issued seventeen (17) Summary Offense Tickets for speeding infractions that included one violator driving above 155 kms per hour.
