Funds Announced for Community Addictions and Mental Health #nlpoli

The Provincial Government has announced $140,000 for Community Addictions and Mental Health Grants.

Successful initiatives focused on one or more of six priority areas:

• Increasing awareness and understanding of problematic substance use

• Reducing alcohol-related harms

• Developing supportive communities

• Mental health promotion

• Recreational activities

• Child/parent/family development

These grants also complement the goals of the Provincial Government’s Opioid Action Plan which aims to reduce risks associated with opioid addiction in the province.

Thirty-six groups will receive funding for their proposals.
