Slick Roads Prompt School Closures #nlwx

Nasty weather will continue across Newfoundland for the morning.

This low will continue to bring mixed weather to Newfoundland.

Rain is expected on the Burin and Avalon. Freezing rain and ice pellets will continue until mid-morning in central Newfoundland. On the west coast, Northern Peninsula, and southeastern Labrador, snow is expected. However on the west coast, snow may mix with ice pellets or rain.

Strong winds are expected to continue across the Island this morning.

During high tide this morning higher than normal water levels are expected along parts of the south coast, especially the area between Port aux Basques and the Burin Peninsula.

Roads are very slippery in spots and several schools are closed.
