RNC Investigating Hit and Run

RNC is investigating a hit and run that occurred on this past Thursday.

Around 9:00 am on Thursday, police responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Thorburn Road and the east-bound off ramp from the Outer Ring Road in St. John’s.

The complainant advised police that he was stopped at a stop sign in a VW Tiguan when he was ‘rear-ended’ by a Chevrolet Silverado (or similar truck such as GMC Sierra.) The truck was described as being between 2007-2015 model year and wine coloured with a matching truck cap. The rear windows of the truck were tinted as was the license plate cover.

The driver of the truck is alleged to have pulled out ahead of the first vehicle following the collision and sped down southbound on Thorburn Road at a high rate of speed. The driver did not stop following this collision.
