Blizzard to Slam Eastern Newfoundland this Weekend #nlwx

Snow will begin on the southeast Avalon Friday around 3 pm.

Total snowfall amounts of 40 cm is possible over the Avalon.

Strong wind will also be an issue with gusts up over 100 km/h. This will create very hazardous driving conditions.

Air Canada has issued a travel advisory for St. John's International Airport for Today and Saturday.

By Saturday night the low will pull away from the Island.
