14 Canadian Armed Forces members released from hospital following Wainwright incident

The Canadian Armed Forces says 14 personnel injured in an October 17 incident at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright have been released from hospital.
In an update issued November 4, National Defence confirmed that 25 injured CAF members remain hospitalized as recovery efforts continue.
The military says it is working with medical professionals, provincial health authorities and support networks to coordinate ongoing care for those injured and provide assistance to their families.
Four hospitalized members have also been transferred to healthcare facilities closer to their home communities in British Columbia and Ontario following medical assessments and recommendations.
The transfers will allow those members to continue receiving medical care while being closer to family and loved ones.
The Canadian Armed Forces says injured personnel and their families continue to have access to support services, including designated assistants who act as direct contacts between members, their families and the military.
National Defence also expressed its appreciation to healthcare professionals and federal, provincial, regional and municipal partners involved in the response and recovery efforts.
The CAF says recovery will vary for each injured member and their family, with some facing a lengthy recovery process. Support services will remain available throughout that process.
