13 new COVID-19 cases, Omicron variant detected


There are 13 new cases of COVID-19.


One is located in Central Health, three are in Eastern Health, and nine are in Western Health and there are eight presumptive positive cases all of which are in Western Health.


We also have our first case of the Omicron variant located in the Eastern Health region.


There are 34 active cases and there are two recoveries.


No one is in hospital.


Anyone returning from a post-secondary institution outside of the province will need a PCR test. Anyone not tested will need to self-isolate for 14 days.


Only two people at a time will be permitted in long term care homes. They can be different people at different times.
