10 Charged in Connection With Death of Jonathan Henoche
The RNC has charged ten correctional officers in connection with the death of Jonathan Henoche at Her Majesty's Penitentiary in St. John's in 2019.
Eight men and two women have been charged. Three have been charged with manslaughter. One of those individuals also faces a count of failure to provide necessaries of life. Seven are facing charges of criminal negligence causing death.
Their names have not been released. All of the accused were released from custody this week.
Henoche, aged 33, was killed while awaiting trial in November of 2019. Little details on the circumstances of what happened have been released at this time but there was an altercation of some kind.
They will have a court appearance in February.
