Winter storm likely across eastern Newfoundland


There are winter storm watches in effect across eastern areas of Newfoundland. Snow will begin Monday morning and will be heavy at times on Monday afternoon. Gusty winds will become stronger Monday evening resulting in poor visibility in blowing snow.


Snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm are possible combined with wind gusts from 60 to 70 km/h.


Conditions will improve overnight on Monday.

 

There are extreme cold warnings in effect across Labrador. Winds chills of -50 to -45 are expected late tonight until late Monday morning.
