Thick cloud cover continues across eastern Newfoundland this morning.

It will be a nice day on the Avalon, central, and the Great Northern Peninsula. Rain is expected for the south coast and parts of the west coast.

Along the southwest coast, heavy rain continues this morning and will continue through Thursday morning. Rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 mm are possible for the Channel-Port aux Basques and vicinity area. Winds will also gust to about 80 km/h.

Across most of Labrador showers or a risk of showers are anticipated. We could hear a rumble of thunder in the Labrador City area.
