Weather system to push through today


An area of low pressure will push across Newfoundland today spreading rain and snow across most of the Island.


Portions of the west coast will see snow with 15 to 20 cm possible. Areas adjacent to the coastline will see rain mixed with snow at times.


Along much of the south coast and Bay St. George heavy rain is anticipated. Rainfall amounts of 25 to 50 mm are expected.


Central will see rain late in the day and the Avalon will see rain move in this evening.


In the Wreckhouse area, winds will gust to 120 km/h throughout the day.


Conditions will clear from west to east on Saturday evening to Sunday.
