We can look forward to a pleasant summer day today, with sunshine and mild temperatures forecast for most regions of the province.

Daytime highs are expected to reach the low 20s across many parts of the Island, while cooler conditions will persist along portions of the Labrador coast.

The warmest temperature is forecast for the Grand Falls-Windsor area, where the mercury is expected to climb to 22 C under a mix of sun and cloud. Highs of 21 C are forecast for Corner Brook, Gander and St. John’s, all under mainly sunny skies.

Temperatures will be slightly cooler in central and northeastern Newfoundland, with Marystown expected to reach 18 C and Port aux Basques forecast to top out near 15 C. Along the Great Northern Peninsula, St. Anthony is expected to enjoy sunny conditions and a high of 20 C, while Port Saunders is forecast to reach 15 C.

In Labrador, inland communities will see the warmest conditions. Happy Valley-Goose Bay is expected to reach 19 C with a mix of sun and cloud, while Labrador City is forecast to see sunny skies and a high of 18 C. Churchill Falls is expected to reach 16 C.

Cooler weather is expected along the Labrador coast, where marine influences will keep temperatures lower. Forecast highs include 17 C in Mary's Harbour and 12 C in both Hopedale and Nain. Some showers are possible in northern and central coastal areas.
