Warm and humid conditions expected across parts of Newfoundland and Labrador today

In Labrador, temperatures are forecast to climb into the low-to-upper 20s. Happy Valley-Goose Bay is expected to be the warmest location in the province at 28 C, while Churchill Falls could reach 24 C and Labrador City 21 C. Nain is forecast to remain considerably cooler with a high near 14 C and periods of rain.


Across the island portion of the province, conditions will vary from region to region. Western Newfoundland is expected to see a mix of sun and cloud, with Corner Brook reaching 18 C. The southwest coast, including Channel-Port aux Basques, will remain much cooler with temperatures near 12 C under mostly cloudy skies.


Central Newfoundland is expected to be one of the more active weather regions, with thunderstorms possible around Gander and the Grand Falls-Windsor area this afternoon. Highs are forecast to reach 25 C in Gander and 26 C in Grand Falls-Windsor.


On the Avalon Peninsula, St. John's is expected to see a mix of sun and cloud with temperatures reaching 19 C. Marystown is forecast to top out around 17 C under mainly cloudy conditions.


Along the Great Northern Peninsula, St. Anthony is expected to enjoy partly sunny skies with a high near 18 C.
