Violent winds to lash province as latest winter storm rolls through

Stormy conditions will continue across Newfoundland, with snow and blowing snow expected in western and central areas. Along the south coast, precipitation will transition to rain this morning. The Avalon will also see rain. A changeover to snow is expected tonight.
Strong winds are expected across much of the island, particularly along coastal regions. Gusts could reach 130 km/h along the south coast and the Avalon Peninsula. Coastal gusts to 120 km/h are expected for western and central areas of the Island.
Cold conditions are expected across much of Labrador today, with a mix of sun and cloud. Temperatures range from about minus 21 in Labrador City to minus 6 in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. For Happy Valley-Goose Bay and southeastern areas, snow and blowing snow will continue today.
