Unsettled weekend ahead for most of NL


An area of low pressure will intensify over the Gulf of St. Lawrence and another developing low south of Newfoundland will bring unsettled weather to Newfoundland and Labrador on Friday and Saturday.


Most of Newfoundland and Labrador will see snow on Friday. Over southern and eastern sections of Newfoundland, snow will change to rain on Friday afternoon.


On Friday night into Saturday, there is the potential for some snow squalls along the west and south coast of Newfoundland.


In Labrador snow will begin on Friday afternoon and continue until Saturday night.


Winds will be strong as well, gusts to 100 km/h are possible for coastal areas of Newfoundland and coastal areas of Labrador could see wind gusts to 130 km/h.


Marine Atlantic anticipates disruptions to crossings on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.


It remains a bit too early to provide precipitation amounts. Keep checking back for updates.
