Two People Sent to Hospital After Vehicle Strikes Parked Car Then Overturns in St. John’s

Two people were taken to hospital after colliding with a parked vehicle then overturning in St. John’s on Monday.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Golf Avenue and Buckmasters Circle just after 3:40 p.m. on Monday for reports of a collision.

Crews arrived to find a vehicle on its roof in the middle of Golf Avenue with extensive damage. Crews attended to the two injured people until further emergency personnel arrived on scene.

The collision occurred when the car was travelling down Golf Avenue towards St. Clare's Mercy Hospital when it crashed into a parked vehicle and overturned on its roof. After the parked vehicle was struck, it was pushed forward into a utility pole where it sustained significant damage.

As a result of the collision, two people have been taken to hospital with what are described as serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Golf Avenue between St Clare Avenue and Army Street was closed as police investigated and waited for a tow truck to arrive.
