RNC Seizes Vehicle, Suspends Novice Driver

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has seized a vehicle and suspended the licence of an 18-year-old novice driver in Corner Brook.

The RNC says officers conducted a traffic stop on Main Street around 9:30 p.m. on October 18.

Police determined the driver, who held a Class 5II licence, had consumed alcohol before driving.

Novice drivers and drivers under the age of 22 are prohibited from consuming alcohol before getting behind the wheel.

The driver provided a roadside breath sample, resulting in the vehicle seizure and licence suspension.
