Motorists and pedestrians travelling near Memorial University’s St. John’s campus will see traffic changes starting today as scheduled maintenance is carried out on the university’s tunnel system.
The work will affect traffic on Prince Philip Drive and is expected to continue until the end of August.
Eastbound traffic near the University Centre will be diverted onto Irwin’s Road while the maintenance is underway.
Westbound motorists will also be affected, with the left-turning lane onto Livyers Loop closed. Drivers are being asked to use an alternate route.
Alternative pedestrian routes will be available during the work.
Motorists and pedestrians are asked to follow posted signs, barricades and directions from workers at the site.
Memorial University said the traffic changes will remain in place until the maintenance work is completed, which is expected by the end of August.
