Alberta starts advance voting on referendum

Advance voting had begun in the Alberta referendum. In a referendum, questions are generally asked in a "yes" or "no" format. However, question number 10 on the ballot is the one getting the most attention.

The question is "Should Alberta remain a province of Canada, or should the Government of Alberta commence the legal process required under the Canadian Constitution to hold a binding provincial referendum on whether or not Alberta should separate from Canada?"

The first option is "Alberta should remain a province of Canada." The second option is "The Government of Alberta should commence the legal process required under the Canadian Constitution to hold a binding provincial referendum on whether or not Alberta should separate from Canada."

Referendum election day is on October 19.
