Temperature records broken across the province



Several locations across Newfoundland and Labrador set new maximum temperature records on Thursday.


The following locations set new records:


Badger

New record of 33.0

Old record of 31.3 set in 2017

Records in this area have been kept since 1956


Bonavista

New record of 27.8

Old record of 26.7 set in 1961

Records in this area have been kept since 1956


Burgeo

New record of 23.3

Old record of 21.4 set in 2007

Records in this area have been kept since 1939


Gander Intl

New record of 33.3

Old record of 30.5 set in 2017

Records in this area have been kept since 1937


La Scie

New record of 30.1

Old record of 29.6 set in 2017

St. John's Intl

New record of 30.1

Terra Nova Nat Park

In addition, Gander, Terra Nova, and Winterland all set a new monthly extreme record

maximum temperature for June.


Terra Nova tied the all-time extreme record maximum temperature of 35.4 degrees.
