It has been a stormy day across Newfoundland as the stormy weather continues. Snow will continue in central areas until late this evening. Precipitation over the Avalon has mostly changed to ice pellets or rain, making the snow exceptionally heavy.
Winds on the Avalon and most of central Newfoundland will increase later this evening and Thursday morning with gusts from 80 to 100 km/h.
Lows overnight will dip between minus 6 and zero.
Across Labrador, light snow is expected in western areas. It will be clearer in the east. Cold temperatures continue.
