Stormy night ahead across eastern and central Newfoundland

A low will move across the province this evening and overnight, bringing snow to many areas.


Clarenville, Terra Nova, and the Bonavista Peninsula will receive snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 cm. Winds will gust from 80 to 110 km/h.


St. John's, the northern Avalon Peninsula, and the Burin Peninsula will see about 5 to 10 cm of snow and winds gusting from 80 to 110 km/h.


Bonavista North, Gander and vicinity, and the Bay d'Espoir Highway will see about 10 to 15 cm of snow and wind gusts from 60 to 70 km/h, except 90 km/h along parts of the coast.


Overnight lows on the island will range from minus 16 to minus 5.


Conditions will be largely fair across Labrador with lows ranging from minus 25 and minus 12.
