Stormy Monday continues with freezing rain, rain, and strong winds


It is another stormy day across Newfoundland and Labrador. Several alerts remain in effect for freezing rain, heavy rain, and strong winds.


The south coast and Avalon is currently seeing rain. Over the course of the day and into tonight freezing rain will transition to rain. Along the south coast, 20 to 30 mm of rain is possible today while the Avalon Peninsula will see 3 to 8 mm.


Freezing will continue until midnight for portions of central and western Newfoundland along with the Great Northern Peninsula. 5 to 10 mm of freezing rain is expected.


In Labrador freezing rain will start tonight and continue until Wednesday for the Cartwright to L'Anse-au-Clair and the Eagle River region.


Today through this evening winds will gust between 100 and 120 km/h along the west coast.
