Storm winding down in eastern Newfoundland, more school closures

Topsail Road on Monday afternoon.

It is another snow day for many in eastern and central Newfoundland.

Many schools and post-secondary institutions are either closed for the morning or have a delayed opening.

There is a little snow lingering on the Avalon this morning. The snow will come to an end early this afternoon. Over the duration of this morning, we could see another 2 cm of snow.

Roads are snow-covered across the province this morning. There is some drifting snow in eastern and parts of central Newfoundland. Travel is not recommended from Eastport Junction to Eastport Park Boundary and Terra Nova National Park East Boundary to Park West Boundary due to poor visibility.

Unofficially there was another 15 cm of snow last night combined with 21 cm from yesterday for a total of 36 cm in the west end of St. John's.
