Storm to Impact Province Tuesday
There are numerous weather alerts in effect across the province as a low will move over the province tonight and tomorrow bringing heavy rain and strong winds to Newfoundland and snow to Labrador.
Rain is expected across Newfoundland tomorrow with amounts ranging from 10 to 25 mm. Heavier rain is expected on the southwest coast with amounts from 60 to 80 mm with near 100 mm over higher terrain.
For Corner Brook and higher terrain areas of the west coast, the rain will change to snow late in the afternoon with a few centimetres possible.
Strong winds are also expected with gusts from 70 to 100 km/h expected. Gusts in the Wreckhouse area could reach 130 km/h.
In Labrador heavy snow is expected for some areas. Snowfall amounts of 15 to 30 cm are possible for some coastal areas.
