Storm to Impact NL on Monday #nlwx

As an area of low pressure departs Atlantic Canada today, another system is headed our way.

On Monday heavy snow will impact southern, central, and eastern Newfoundland. Lesser amounts are expected across the west coast.

This low will pass east of Nova Scotia and south of Newfoundland. As a result, the strongest winds will remain offshore as will the majority of mixed precipitation.

While a slight shift in the track can make a big difference, it looks like parts of Newfoundland could see 15 to 30 cm of snow.

Winds will gust to near 70 km/h over some areas of Newfoundland.

Marine Atlantic says that crossings could be impacted on Sunday.
