Residents of St. John’s and surrounding municipalities can begin registering for fall 2026 recreation programs later this month, with registration opening in late July and August.
The City of St. John’s said registration dates will vary depending on the program and residency status.
For children, youth, fitness, outdoor adult and seniors programs, registration for St. John’s residents will open at 10 a.m. on July 30, while residents of other municipalities can register beginning at 10 a.m. on Aug. 4.
Registration for swimming lessons and aquatic leadership programs will open at 7 a.m. on Aug. 25 for St. John’s residents and 7 a.m. on Aug. 27 for residents of other municipalities.
The city said all swimming lesson registrations will now be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. If a program reaches capacity, any additional spaces that become available will be released through the RECconnect system for direct registration. Families are encouraged to check regularly for new openings.
Residents can register online through RECconnect, in person at the H.G.R. Mews Community Centre or Paul Reynolds Community Centre, or by phone beginning three hours after registration opens at 709-576-8499 or 709-576-8631.
The city is reminding residents to ensure their RECconnect accounts are activated and up to date at least 72 hours before registration opens.
Officials also recommend adding desired programs to a personal “Wish List” before registration day to make the checkout process faster once spaces become available.
