Premier invites youth to join advisory committee

Premier Tony Wakeham is inviting young people across Newfoundland and Labrador to apply for the Premier’s Youth Advisory Committee.
The committee will provide non-partisan advice to the Premier and provincial government on issues affecting young people, helping ensure their perspectives are considered in public policy discussions and decision-making.
Riley Balsom, Parliamentary Assistant to the Premier and MHA for Carbonear-Trinity-Bay de Verde, will co-chair the committee.
Topics under consideration include population growth, rural revitalization, mental health supports, education, employment and affordability challenges facing young people.
The committee will have up to 25 members between the ages of 16 and 24. Members will serve two-year terms.
Applications are open until October 30. Interested youth can visit the Premier’s Youth Advisory Committee website to learn more about eligibility requirements and the selection process and to submit an application.
