Snowfall warnings issued for parts of Newfoundland

A low will cross Newfoundland tonight resulting in significant snow for some areas. For parts of the west coast snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm of snow is expected, except 15 cm in some areas.

In central Newfoundland, 15 to 20 cm of snow is expected.

Snow will start this evening and continue until Saturday afternoon.

In the Wreckhouse area, winds will gust to 110 km/h this evening and 60 to 80 km/h in the Port aux Basques area. Snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm combined with the gusty winds will result in widespread blowing snow.
