Significant snow expected for eastern Newfoundland



It will be a snowy start to the workweek. Snow will impact most of Newfoundland, significant snowfall amounts are possible over the Avalon Peninsula.


Snow will push across eastern and central Newfoundland overnight. Snow will begin on the west coast, excluding the Northern Peninsula, on Monday night. The heaviest snow is expected over the Avalon Peninsula. Over the southeastern Avalon Peninsula, snow may change to ice pellets at times. Winds on the Avalon will gust between 60 km/h and 90 km/h on Monday night. The snow will come to an end on Tuesday afternoon.

  • St. John's 30-40 cm

  • Trepassey 15-30 cm

  • Marystown 20-25 cm

  • Gander 10-15 cm

  • Corner Brook 5-10 cm

  • Avalon Peninsula North

  • Avalon Peninsula Southeast

  • St. John's and vicinity

  • Avalon Peninsula Southwest

  • Burin Peninsula

  • Connaigre

  • Bonavista Peninsula

  • Clarenville and vicinity

  • Terra Nova
