Sherry Glynn has been acclaimed as the new secretary-treasurer of the Fish, Food and Allied Workers union following the close of nominations for two vacant positions on the union’s executive board.
The FFAW’s Elections Committee met Monday to review nomination forms submitted before the Aug. 7 deadline.
Glynn was the only nominee for secretary-treasurer and was cleared as an eligible candidate, resulting in her acclamation.
The union said Glynn will be sworn in at the next executive board meeting, in accordance with the FFAW constitution.
Two candidates were also cleared as eligible for the executive board’s non-fishery seat.
Chelsea Dicks of the Ramada and Mark Fudge of Molson will face an electronic vote for the position.
The FFAW said details about the election, including when voting will open and close, will be announced in the coming days.
